Trapped.

You find yourself trapped underground only to discover a series of ancient tunnels. Winding as they are, it would be easy for one to become lost amidst the winding passageways, but if you keep your wits about you perhaps you will find a way back to the surface.

Except.

It seems as if someone else is leaving markings as well. Or are the ones you see your own and you’ve somehow doubled back on yourself. And you continue it’s almost as if the very walls around you conspire for your demise. But that’s just the stress talking.

…right.

Pausing to take a breath you hear the muffled grinding of stone against stone, only to turn around and be met with a wall that was not originally there. You turn again, and step into a large circular room that appeared as if from nowhere. You step into this new room only to hear more grinding, this time paired with a new sound: a deep inhuman groan that sounds partway between a shout and a roar. You are not as along as you had previously thought, and from the stomps echoing louder, it seems whatever made that noise is not happy to have company.

Daedalus is a horror roguelike where fear doesn’t let you get familiar. A rotating cast of monsters with unique behaviors paired with periodic puzzle elements and ever-changing level design that adapts to your play habits will make it so that every run will be unique from the last.
